Overreaction

Today, my girlfriend saw the name "Melissa" on my phone's contact list. After refusing to tell her who it was, she accused me of being a cheater, broke up with me and stormed out of my house. Melissa is the name of a woman from Craigslist who was going to sell me an antique engagement ring. FML

You could have told her that it was because of a present to her... Then no loose ends to misunderstand on :) Fyl though, she sounds kind of insecure.. If she really love you, maybe she will want you back

Your kinda stupid for saving the number..,

Well refusing to tell her anything is your fault. That makes it seem more suspicious. You should have just lied and said it was your cousin or something and then confessed who it really was after you proposed.

Next time, buy the ring someone named Steve

Dodged a bullet. Now you can find a woman with enough confidence to trust you.

that sucks, but you should have just made up some story... i would also wonder if my boyfriend has a strange number and he won't tell me anything about it

I wouldn't want to be with a girlfriend who could not accept 'just some girl' as the answer to a question like that. You probably did dodge a bullet there. Now lets just hope you're not just as bad as her, and can actually do better :)

Why didn't you tell her who it was dumby and just leave out the engagement ring part

Ouch, that sucks man. Maybe you can patch things up?

If it really came down to it you should have told her but a girl that would break up with u for such a stupid reason might not be worth marrying.

My guy doesn't get into my phone. forced lock code due to work security restrictions on company email on handhelds. Get the ring, win her back, explain who Melissa was, and LOCK YOUR DAMN PHONE.

in a good, trusting relationship where you don't hide things you don't need to lock your phone...

he locks it because her company tells her to. She has work email which she can't let other people read.
