Today, I realized that a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering does not offer enough knowledge and experience to accomplish some simple, everyday tasks. I have spent the last 12 years designing large robots to scour the seabed for shipwrecks yet the mechanism used to unhook a bra eludes me. FML

Inspiration for a new robot to design maybe?

Honestly it sucks for you. You failed your sophmore year.

They're difficult at first, but once you get it down you got it forever.

Don't worry dude. I'm a woman and I still can't take the damned thing off myself half the time. The devil himself designed these things, I swear.

or maybe god designed them...haha

im a guy and i can unhook one easily under 5 seconds... but thats a bit different lol

haha, i knew how to unhook a bra on my first try :D it was awesome!

i don't see why osme one with a phd wouldn't like to laugh either? to me it seems just as likely to have someone with a phd (who would be in their mid to late 20s) as someone with a teenage daughter (who would be late 40s ish?). no one calls shennanigans on those guys.

hey... that's not fair! perhaps more than any other group of people, we PhDs (or PhD candidates) need to distract themselves from the agony of realizing that even the most advanced degree a university has to offer won't make life make any more sense. This site fits the bill perfectly.

hahaha i swear half the guys in the world dont know hot to unhook a bra. i dont know why its so confusing *she says as she ignores the millions of times shes struggled with one...*

i can unhook my own in 5 seconds or less. but if a guy even remotely tries epic fail and i wind up doing it myself. i don't understand the difficulty. practice makes perfect. struggling is a totally turn off.

As a woman, I don't understand why unhooking them is difficult. Often times I find putting them on to me the most difficult part especially if I’m tired. I miss the stupid holes that you put the hook through. T.T

I agree with #79. I think putting them ON is much harder than taking them off, at least for me.

The trick is that even if you're having trouble use that time, to do other things. Gotta keep the fire going, especially while your blowing wind on it. I speak from experience. FML

You're dumb. For so many reasons. But anyway, if it worries you, go to a freaking department store (to practice) and say your girlfriend made you buy her one. Or if you're brave, that she made you practice.

Care to name one of the reasons? All of a sudden,he's dumb for not knowing how to unhook a bra? You people need to have your priorities sorted out

I guarantee you he is not dumb.

"Hold On, What do you mean you people?" "What do *YOU* mean you people!?" Tropic Thunder is the shit.

"you're dumb"....guy has a PhD and designed underwater robots

wow I just realized that was almost 10 years ago.....i feel stupid now....

Honestly, I'd rather a man didn't even try to unhook my bra. Men tend to bend or break the hooks with their big, clumsy fingers.

lol with an attitude like that, it's surprising that anyone would WANT to unhook your bra

I'm sure my husband would, but he's too busy pleasing me in ways that matter.

yea, prolly doing your dishes, your laundry, cleaning the house, and otherwise being a puss, right?
