Priorities, mate

Today, I hurt my arm in a scooter accident. When my dad came to pick me up, instead of taking me to the hospital like a normal dad, he took me directly home where he spent a hour shaving and taking a shower so he would "look nice" when we went to the hospital, while I clutched my arm in pain. FML

thats exactly like my mom lol. i broke my thumb riding a bike and she spent 45 mins in front of the mirror doing her makeup because she refuses to leave the house without looking nice. :l

your dad is a fag, but appareantly so are you; instead of whining on the internet face him. And then still, hurting your arm doesn't mean it's badly injured -.-

it means you should see a doctor to see if it's injured. if someone is clutching his arm in pain I can imagine this could be an injury like a broken bone.

Gotta admit it does suck. If you're in really bad pain, your treatment should come before his looks.

#8 - wtf is wrong with you? he had a scooter accident. those can be fatal at times. he needs to go to a hospital, and not taking care of injuries that might happen in a scooter accident can cost a helluva lot more than a hospital bill.

I droped my motorcycle doing over 40 and wasn't fatally wounded. So op deserves it still if he was riding a scooter hard enough to get that hurt. But let's relax a little cus it obviously isn't that bad i mean he's well enough to think to get on fml and complain

The speed is irrelevant, it depends if the OP was wearing any protective gear, what he hit, what he landed on/bounced off, and a bit of luck. I know a guy who broke his ankle when he dropped his bike doing 15mph. I myself have stood up and walked away after coming off at more than 60. All that said, your last point is valid, OP clearly wasn't hurt badly enough for hospital or he wouldn't be online whining about it.

You guys forget that it is a rule to put "Today" at the start of every FML. For all we know, this could have happened a couple weeks ago. @OP: That sounds sort of like my parents. Grandpa was rushed to the hospital in critical condition, probably going to die on the way there (he didn't, thankfully), and the first thing my parents do is take showers, put on formal clothes, etc. I just threw on a jeans and t-shirt, brushed my hair, and was like "AWRIGHT LET'S GO GUYS COME ON" I took five minutes to get ready, they took an hour. Your dad is kind of a douche, really. Who CARES when you're going to a hospital? There are a lot of disheveled people there already... Though, it was just a broken arm. Not saying that wouldn't be painful, just that... at least you weren't in cardiac arrest or something. Also lol 63

I'm pretty sure one broken bone would warrant going to the hospital but still allow him to be online afterwards.

you should call child services because that was total bullshit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Your dad just wants to look his best so he can get a date with a nice handsome doctor. He's gay, is the main point I'm trying to convey here today. Not that there's anything wrong with that. But yeah, he's queer.

I sympathize. A couple of weeks ago, I was having back spasms so intense that I couldn't breathe. I had to wait for my mother to shower, do her hair, and put on makeup. We were going to the emergency room, bitch, nobody was going to judge you for flat hair or a lack of mascara, and I COULDN'T BREATHE.

If you find yourself in a situation like that again, just overrule the stupid bitch and call 911. Don't wait for her silly ass.

it's just an arm. you've got another one. think of all the hot nurses and lady doctors at the hospital. Jon from jon&kate+8 would have done the same.

Big freakin deal. You weren't in any mortal danger, you hurt your arm. #36 if you really couldn't breathe you wouldn't have known she was doing all that cause you would have passed out.

Unless she told that person that she was going to do just that before going - in which case they would be aware of that, passing out or not.

for a woman to shower, do her hair, and put on make-up it takes at least an hour. If someone honestly couldn't breathe they would pass out long before that. She was only having shortness of breath, most likely due to the fact that it was painful for her to inhale due to the back spasms. The rest is not in response to the previous comment. Too many people nowadays use the ER instead of having a primary care doctor. Doctors can provide much better care when they have a relationship with you and have your records available to them. Not to mention many diseases and disorders can be prevented and managed with screening tests and lifestyle changes. But people are too lazy to be healthy and want a pill to fix everything, and they get pissed and blame doctors when we can't give that to them.

showering and doing make up and stuff doesnt always take an hour or anywhere close to it
