Irony is rarely more cruel to a person than when someone's intelligence or common sense has been insulted, and their actions afterward only validate the insults. Sorry dear, but YDI simply for making a classic foot-in-mouth error. His response, that is. I dunno what you did to be called stupid over and over in an argument, so I'll withhold judgment on that. Consider both dumping your boyfriend and screwing your head on tighter.
That sounds a lot like mental dating abuse. Get out while you can or you'll j=kick yourself later, girlfriend.
Today I had to read yet another post from someone whining about her relationships, and how she made a fool of herself. FML I can't blame the guy for saying that. I'm sure you said some equally insulting things in the text you sent him. You absolutely deserve it. Also, I agree w/ #47. "Emotional abuse" is just another B.S. term that our society has made up to make people who are over-sensitive feel better. Life skill #386: learn to deal with insults, cause they're not going to stop anytime soon (especially if you're going to continue doing stupid things).
Wow, your boyfriend sounds like a winner. Dump him.
@#55: **** you. As a (definitely not fragile, trust me) victim of an emotionally abusive relationship, and as someone who has watched several (also not fragile) friends go through their own emotionally abusive relationships, I can authoritatively tell you that emotional abuse does exist. It's more than just insults, though, it's an entire attitude, a way of treating someone, and a whole lot more, and I don't think we have enough information to categorize the FML as abuse (if it's just what it says, then it's not abuse) but emotional abuse exists. Seriously, **** you.
If he repeatedly insults, demeans, and belittles you, I'd consider that verbal abuse. You shouldn't have to put up with that. Find someone who respects you.
