Sick ride, dude

Today, my parents said that they bought me a car. I had been begging for one for a year and they always said that I would have to pay for it myself. I got really excited and went to the garage to see my new ride. It was a Hot Wheels car with a note saying, "Save your money". FML

:-) That's basically what my family did to my brother, only we used a model BMW. You kind of deserve that - car's aren't toys and they are expensive to buy and worse to insure. Get a job and pay for it yourself. Best of luck!

I wouldn't mind getting Hot Wheels cars...

HAHAHAHAHA My parents did that to me too! More than once. The first time I came home and I was lusting over Jeep Wranglers. I always wanted a used one too. I came home and there was one parked in our driveway with a forsale sign on it. I ran in and was like HOLY CRAP IS THAT MINE! and they laughed at me and said no and pointed a family friend out who had just bought it. The second time was my 17th and they said i MIGHT get a car for it. That car turned out to be a model car. I laughed both times. I thought it was witty and smart of my parents.

#73: You may be asking "How is the OP supposed to GET a car if they can't get to a job?" 1) Assuming the OP can walk, this person has the ability to WALK to a BUS STOP. Or ride a bike, if s/he knows how. Or take a cab (expensive, but it IS another option). 2) The OP's parents keep saying "Save your money." That implies that the OP is acquiring money SOMEHOW. Whether it's by allowance, part-time job, or any other number of reasons, the OP is acquiring money. It is the OP's duty to learn to be responsible with it instead of relying on Mommy and Daddy to work the rest of their lives to provide the OP with the things s/he wants, not needs.

Refuse to support them in their old age.

My parents told me that this happened to them, and that this would happen to me if I asked... FML

bitch you have a car, and it's one hell of a lot nicer than most...

You should ask underappreciated if you can have their son's car.
