I've been staring at computer screens for 19 years, and all I've gotten is red eyes. Why am I not blind already? My vision is perfect. Maybe because I try to keep a good distance between my eyes and the monitor, or because I don't turn the brightness up to eleven. In fact, I'm more sensitive about color hues than most men.
I'm a computer programmer. If I ever lost my vision, I would go crazy. I would lock myself in my room forever, trying to write stories with my eyes closed (yes, I can type with my eyes closed, I sometimes miss my home keys, but otherwise I can do that) until I die from starvation.
I couldn't live. "Sir, your code isn't working". WELL WHICH DAMN SEMICOLON DID I MISS
Hate to say it but you deserve it. You knew what you were getting into when you declared your major. I'm a CS major now and I know I'm probably not going to be able to see very long. Every job has a cost, manual labor it's usually a back problem for computer science majors it's eyesight. :P
On "The Office," they suggested taking a 15-min break from the computer every two hours to avoid strain.
my doc told me the same thing. op is likely having difficulties from astigmatism which can not show itself until mid to late 20's.
Use a backlight to decrease strain on your eyes.
Yeah, me too, but there are a lot of different tactics to limit any future damage. You might want to Google it? (Pun so seriously intended!) Take regular breaks. Use eyedrops because staring at a screen dries your eyes. Spend money on a high-end monitor or two. Increase the text size and zoom to reduce strain. Change the room lighting to reduce strain. Change the color and contrasts to reduce strain, and change that now and then again. Oh, and, take regular breaks! Get a second opinion from someone that advises you instead of just blaming you.
Get glasses.... Oh unless your literally going blind then that really sucks..:s

They make special yellow tinted glasses for that tell your doctor, he is a ******* retard. They are generally used by pro gamers
go blind doing what you love? OR you could just become an expensive prostitute for like the president or mayor or something
