Today, my girlfriend missed our date, so I angrily texted her, telling her if she can't make our dates then we should break up, and generally telling her off. Five minutes later I get a picture of her sleeping in a hospital bed from her mother, saying, "Shut the fuck up, she had appendicitis." FML

Who said they were that serious, for all we know they may have only been dating for two weeks. The mom may not have known her daughter had a date, and besides she had bigger things to worry about. The OP should have called first to see where the girl was.

If my boyfriend didn't show up for a date, I'd be worried that something bad had happened to him, not telling him off in angry texts. Anyone who reacts like this is clearly too immature to even be in a relationship.

What is up with people jumping to conclusions, acting like assholes, then whining about it on FML? F your girlfriend's life for having such a jerk BF. Unless she regularly misses your dates, in which case you could've been more clear in the FML, why wouldn't you think something might be wrong, and CALL first, rather than assuming that she just decided not to show up?

Usually when people have a child in the hospital they're more worried about the child than any possible dates. But you wouldn't know that, since you've obviously never gotten laid and therefore can have no child.
