Stop lying

Today, I found out that my sister, who is 16 years older than me, is actually my biological mother. She and my parents decided it was best that I didn't know who my real mother was, and to be raised by my grandparents as their child. I've always hated my sister. FML

Well then, I guess it's a good thing your grandparents raised you, isn't it?

Holy shit... this one isn't even funny. I'm sorry, man : |

I can't imagine how bad that would mess you up - and I don't mean that in a negative way. I hope your hatred of your 'sister' is because you picked up on her non-sisterly feelings for you and now the two of you can work on a more-normal relationship. I doubt it'll ever be 'normal mom/son', but I've heard of wierder things happening.

Holy shit! This is the harshest FML I think I've ever seen. That's absolutely insane.

cool story:) can you tell it again, do you have time?

Same thing happened to Jack Nicholson and Bobby Darwin. At least your mom isnt a cougar and decided to sleep with you, then you two had a child and discovered out that you are mother and son. THAT would be an FML

you might just be my sister. How old are you? I was adopted and the same situation happened to my older sister but as far as I know she didnt know yet.

the OP is a guy, so I don't think he could be your sister...

whoa.... never heard that before, lol wow... that is a lot to take in.... now this is an fml...

Sucks that they lied to you about it but being raised by your grandparents does not constitute a FML. I was 16 when i had my daughter and after a year i agreed to let my parents adopt her, my mom was with her almost every second of the day because i was going to school and working to try to save money for when i turned 18. She was never lied to about it and is incredibly happy. She is 8 years old now and has told me that she is happy i decided to let her stay with my mom because she loves her, and that she loves me too but more like an aunt. It makes me very happy to see her thrive in her environment, and be aware of everything. I often wonder if it was the right choice but seeing how happy she is, it was definitely the right choice for our situation. I would have had to work 2 jobs just to support her and would barely be able to support her, not to mention rarely be able to spend time with her inbetween jobs. Again, she is very happy, and loves her mom, parents are who raise you and she sees my mom and dad as her parents and it just makes me happy to see that she is so loved. I have since had more children and she looks at them as her brothers, but does not resent them in anyway for me 'keeping' them, she is actually kind of smug about it, she feels like she got the better deal. I am not saying that every teenager that gets knocked up should just pawn off responsibility on their parents, but alot of people do not give adoptions enough credit. Occasionally it is done for the benefit of the child and the childs future, not for their own benefits or selfishness. But as for the OP, no one ever likes being lied to, especially something so important. They should have told you, it wouldn't have made you love them any less, or majorly screw up your childhood. If they had just told you from the beginning you would probably appreciate the fact that your parents(biological grandparents) loved you enough to treat you like their own.

#114 see I think that's wrong. Your her mother and that will never change. How horrible to let your daughter call you anything but mom even if your parents have raised her. This isn't a situation where you gave the child up and never see her. You I assume continued living in the house til 18 but instead of taking on the responsibility of raising your child you gave her up to your parents. No matter what she should call you mom cause you are. Gah I may sound harsh but these types of situations piss me off to no end. If you were old enough to have sex your old enough to raise the child that comes from it.

Well better to be raised by ur grandparents then an teenage mother. bcuz I mean think about it for a sec. If u were raised by a teenage mom you would hate yourself for ruining her life and thinking it's her fault. Instead u were raised by ur grandparents

did you befriend a retard that looks like kevin bacon? BECAUSE THIS IS THE SAME PLOT AS DIGGING TO CHINA!!!!

Hey, more common than you think. and yet everyone is saying it's stolen from serial killers or movies... this crap happens, and happens often. I'm sure many movies, books, and people have the same background... why? Because IT HAPPENS IN REAL LIFE... and not just to Ted Bundy in real life, but to many people.

The older generation (40s, 50s, 60s) mostly had parents raising their grandkids as if they were they're own.
