Today, as I was closing my car door, I realized I had left the keys in the ignition. Not wanting to lock myself out, I reached to stop the door from closing. Not only did I scream when the door slammed on my hand, but in my furious pain, I leaned on the door, locking my keys inside. FML

Today, while driving, I realized I had left my phone on top of my car when I was getting in. Panicking, I drove back to look for it. I found it in the middle of the street, still intact. Yay! When I went back to my car, I noticed I had locked my door, and the keys were in the ignition. FML

Today, in a rush to get out of my house to go to a doctor's appointment, I closed the door behind me without having my house or car keys on me. Sadly, it took me less than a minute to break into my own house. FML

Today, whilst heading out the door to go to work, my lanyard got caught on the doorknob inside, and I watched my keys swing back inside as the door closed behind me. It was locked. FML

Today, I accidentally locked my car and house keys along with my phone in my car. Then I had to break into my own house looking for the spare. Someone called the police and I had to explain that I lived there. I forgot to grab the spare when I went to talk to the police officers I locked the door behind me. FML

That sucks... you must have a really old car or something, most modern cars won't lock the driver's door if the key is in the ignition.

I did that once, minus the locking myself in part. I slammed my finger right into my car door, and I went to open it and it wouldn't open right away, so I spent about 25 seconds with my finger stuck in the door. Had to go to the hospital when the blood was clotting up in the tip of my finger and wouldn't go back to the rest of my body.

I have a fear of this happening! There is only one key to the car I drive and I often worry about this exact situation happening to me because I lock the doors as I'm getting out of the car out of habit, and I've locked my keys in cars I've owned in the past. Think I might go have a spare made this evening, since I'm thinking about it. Hope your hand is ok!

This is one of the few FMLs lately that I actually laughed out loud at. Yikes. That sucks. But it's hysterical and I bet everyone you told laughed or was thinking about how funny that situation is. But feel better! (=
