I feel like this is a fake one. Bummer.
#20, he owns the damned store. He probably wasn't that worried he might accidentally steal from himself. He might not even have another employee. Could just be a one-man operation.
#20 If it's a store the OP just bought from the previous owner and was counting the registers him/herself, then it might be a very small store that doesn't even necessarily have managers and assistant managers and who knows what...maybe the OP was the first one to be there and the other employers weren't in yet... And if it's the OPs store I don't think it's necessary for someone else to stand there when he/she counts the registers...by stealing money the OP would be stealing from him/herself...that would be pretty stupid...
#22 - You're right, I didn't catch that part, I assumed it a large-scale grocery store. My mistake. Still, though, it's not really believable -- it's pretty easy to prove ownership. Although most cops are assholes, something like this seems too easy for them to screw up. #23 - Yeah, I didn't catch that part. Still not believable.
#20, if you're the owner...you don't have to worry about stealing your own money and maybe no one was around yet. if they're a small business they don't have all that crazy security. don't judge their experience based off of your own.
LOL agree with #1 :p
#24, sorry about the harsh tone. I agree with you about the believability though. This seems like one that could have/should have been solved in a couple minutes, not six hours.
#3 how would they know weather she was telling the truth or not, just cause she has Alzheimers doesn't mean we disregard everything she says
You totally should have just shown some kind of buisness id. you'd have to have proof of purchase in the store, sooo ..
Im calling BS, you just bought the business so you should have records. Aside from that they would have to consult the owner of the store before making an arrest for robbery unless the cops are just corrupt (most likely, 99% of them are). However, in the case that you didnt have proof with you, you should have counted money in the back. A main rule of business operation even if its small is to not count money in public view, window, etc. Inept, or BS. sorry homie

Wow, I hope she doesn't do it again tomorrow! And the next day, and the next day...
They do need to apologise for wrongful arrest, though, #4.
