@reetah I see the point of wondering if you may be raped and being alert. However, today it really doesn't matter (sadly) if you wonder if a street is lit or not, etc. I just read a story how a woman was sexually assaulted in the subway while subway workers looked on. Hell a subway car was right next to the woman and no one did anything. So I definitely understand the paranoia of "what if." On that same vein though, I think a lot of women jump to conclusions (as seen in many FML posts). It just sends mixed signal to us guys when the FMLs are like, "I saw this cute guy (so you obviously like what you're looking at) and then he did XYZ and I said ABC to him only to realize he was (physical handicap or not even looking at me)." Just mixed signals. Similar to low-cut tops and mini skirts. As a guy I like seeing you women in that stuff because it definitely is sexy, but I guess I get confused when you act all disgusted because I am looking.
#61, your right! What if she had gone over and clarified what they meant? Those two scary volunteers might have bent her over and raped her right there in the broad daylight in front of a busy store. A truly chilling thought. And what about all of those coffee-shop employees, lost pedestrians asking for directions, and friendly old ladies on the bus. All trying to make illicit communication with you, and all potential serial rapists. You know, it might be best (both for your and the rest of the world) to just disconnect your phone, stay inside and watch television. After all, you can never be too careful.
45, great points, but 72 also has a great point -- 80% of rapes are perpetrated by someone the victim knows (a friend, boyfriend, relative, teacher, etc). But I don't think any of this is relevant, because we're talking about OUTSIDE OF A CVS (which are generally very well-lit, and if the guys were working for a charity, it was probably during the day time), and the dudes didn't say anything that remotely sounded like a pick-up line or a threat. If they had said, "Hey, baby, consider us on your way out" -- then they are creepsters, working for charity or not. This is just bizarre and stupid and I don't understand how the OP thought these guys were being predatory in the first place.
#74, dressing cute is one thing. But I'm sorry if you're wearing a miniskirt you DO want guys to look at you. That's what it's for. You're lying to yourself if you think otherwise. That doesn't mean it's ok for guys to harrass you, or to like stare intently at you or hurt you. However you DO want to be noticed. If you just wanted to look cute you could wear something else and not be a whorebag.
Why is it that every woman's default reaction to any male attention these days is to be a heartless bitch? Seriously, as others have said: get over yourself.
******* conceited bitch....
@iamme Well when you wear it most straight guys will look at what you're selling. It's called marketing. I understand you do it to feel cute but if you are cute we will probably look. I have a necklace that is shiny and has my birth sign on it. I notice a lot of people looking at it as I talk so I know the feeling and how you can tell when we look at your cleavage. Feel empowered but don't act like a bitch if people look. Guys are sexual creatures for the most part and it goes with the territory. You don't like that we look then wear overalls and a hoodie. I guarantee we will look less. But if you think that by wearing that combination we won't look than you are sorely mistaken.

Wow, way to overreact. One thing this site has taught me is a lot of girls think they're getting hit on when they aren't. ******* get over yourself. You probably aren't that pretty.
YDI, how in the world could you think that they were hitting on you?
