Today, at work, I noticed a spider on a female co-worker's shirt. I gently brushed it off. She accused me of sexual harassment. FML

The spider was on her shoulder to those who asked.

the spider should be the one accused of sexual harassment

Nobody gives a damn if you're first. It makes you look like a jackass. To OP - For future incidences, DO NOT TOUCH WOMEN NO MATTER WHERE. They will usually consider it sexual harassment. Just point it out and let them deal with it.

dam, you should have just left the spider and let it bite her

If it was around her boobs and you 'brushed it off', I would have done the same thing. What did you expect? Its a little creepy when a coworker randomly stokes you. YDI. You could have TOLD her that theres a spider on her shirt and then proceed to brush it off. she would have thanked you then. idiot.

You have absolutely no right to touch anyone uninvited under any circumstances, ever. Period. How is this concept so alien to FML commenters? I would absolutely have been uncomfortable with a coworker touching my (assumed) breast area without an explanation. And I'm not wrong for feeling that way. I shouldn't have to be subjected to discomfort because you don't know your boundaries. I guarantee 90% of you guys calling her a paranoid bitch would freak the hell out if a homosexual male touched your groin without explaining. A simple "there is a spider on you" would obviously have sufficed. It wasn't doing you any harm, it's not your place to remove it. My only regret is that she filed sexual harassment in this situation, even though your behavior was inappropriate. It is a serious issue, and can only be taken as seriously as it should be when used in situations of recurring instances, rather than your apparent oversight.

Yeah, cuz whenever I make a move on someone, I *brush* them.

#48 is a perfect example of a person so paranoid that they should just stay home and avoid interaction with other people.

You probably should have told her that she had a spider on her shoulder, but then again she might have completely freaked out about the spider. But on the shoulder? That is not sexual harassment. Your post says she "accused" you of it, so hopefully you explained it to her and didn't get in trouble.

You've posted this three times now. What is it with repeat posters? Do they think they'll convince more people if they just spam the comment list with the same message?? Btw, I'm a straight male. If a homosexual male brushed a spider off of my groin, I'd thank him; it's nowhere near as bad as getting bitten. Not that I'd be likely to know his sexual orientation, since that's such a dick thing to ask in the first place.

When she accuses you to HR, say that there was a spider on her shirt, then grab her boob and say "now THIS is sexual harassment!"

#48 is just another example of this paranoid ******* society. Shoulder =/= torso or breasts.
