Today, brand new cocktail dress: $300. Matching peep toe heels: $100. Getting my hair done at the salon: $80. Treating myself to a mani/pedi: $50. When finally meeting the guy I have been chatting online with for 2 months, I find out he's my cousin: priceless. FML

Okay I'm the person that wrote this, I wrote it earlier today before I got my account and its one hundered percent true we talked about family we exchanged pics but i had never met him before he was my moms sisters son adn i have never met that part of my family because my mom was disowned for marrying my dad. his last name was my moms maiden name so i didnt think anything of it especially since its a common last name, SMITH. soo yes it may seem ridiculous but its real and awful

I agree with #3. You should have figured it out in 2 months. But after spending $530... you should have ****** him anyway. lol

YDI for not finding out that you guys are related and for spending so much on a date.

He never showed you a pic or anything? 2 months?hhm.

You all know she might not have had the same name as her cousin? He could have been from her mother's side of the family, and they could have not seen each other a lot in their lifetimes. I don't see my cousin's very often.

i guess you had a lot in common, lol!

#191 Given then amount of people who were commenting right after this was posted saying "THE $ GOES BEFORE, NOT AFTER" it seems likely that it was originally 300$, and a mod switched it to be $300. OP, why did you send $530 on a blind date? Isn't that a bit excessive? Did you really need a new look for a guy you've never seen before?

You don't go in very deep discussions eh? You should of discovered he has your Counsin far sooner. Also, over 500 dollars on a first date with a guy you've never seen yet? That's a bit excessive...

What's wrong with that? It's legal in most States.

And that is why you always always get real names and exchange photos before you meet. And also so that you can tell someone who you're meeting in case the person turns out to be dangerous. Really, it's just good sense.
