Today, I am struggling with exhaustion due to insomnia. The reason I cannot sleep is crippling anxiety - not about my complicated romantic situation, my pileup of work, or even my relationship with my father. No, I'm afraid of a blind ship captain I saw in a dream three days ago. FML

But if you think about it, the blind ship captain you see in your dreams could be an archetype of the anxiety you're not facing in your daily life. Now that's deep!

Dreams can be either great or terrible. I completely understand what you're going through. I used to dream my boyfriend was cheating on me and became very insecure, which destroyed our relationship.

I don't remember a lot of my dreams but when I was a kid, I definitely had a recurring nightmare that I kept me afraid of falling asleep too. Lasted for weeks before I was able to go to sleep without freaking out. Just try to keep your mind occupied while you go to sleep. Sometimes watching TV (with a timer on if you're able), or putting on your alarm clock radio on (these usually have timers on them too) to have some distraction helps. Good luck getting to sleep OP!

Whew (wiping brow sarcasticly). Glad your not losing sleep over something real. Stiff drink and a good sex right before bed should help.

dont follow a blind captain, your father dont know where hes going, do u? probably not

He can't be too much of a threat if he's blind... And a figment of your imagination.

That is not insomnia. I have insomnia there is not a reason why I can't sleep I just can. You had a nightmare meaning you are too anxious or afraid to go back to sleep. There is a reason.

I had a creepy dream about demons, turns out its a symbol for a big life change, try looking up some symbols of the dream..made me feel a TON better
