Today, I came home to find my dad crying. Turns out my parents are getting divorced because my mom had an affair. With a teacher at my school. A female teacher. And the school isn't going to fire her because she's a good teacher. Every day at school I'm going to have to see her. FML

Why should the school board fire her? It's the teacher's private life and she's not having an affair with one of the students, so why should it be a problem at school? It's gonna be awkward for you and I understand that you must be really upset about it, but you not liking her shouldn't be a reason for her to lose her job.

Just check out the length of sentances as well as conviction rartes for male teachers sleeping with female students as compared with female teachers sleeping with male students. You might want to undo that twist in your panties.

Now, there's a reason for that. For most teenage guys (Trust me. I have to deal with them daily) Banging at least one of their teachers (I have a good looking teacher. It makes me sick hearing them talk about her. Pigs.) is a goal, a challenge, something they can be PROUD of. It doesn't traumatize them like it does girls. With girls, it's traumatizing. Little girls looking for validation turn to teachers, and predatory teachers take what they can get. And it does end up screwing the girls up later in life. With the guys, yes, but in a socially acceptable way. Does that make it right? No. But it's how it works.

Grow up, OP. Put in a request to the school to transfer classes/never be put into her classes, and that's it. Who is between her legs has no bearing on how she teachers - it was consequential sex between adults, on her own time. For that matter, who says she even knew you were your mother's daughter? Depending on what level of school you are at, she could deal with dozens of students - she may not even remember who the hell you are, let alone who each parent is! So going off the idea that she ****** over a student being a good reason to fire her - that doesn't stand up at all. I'm going into teaching, and I'd be mad as hell if the school fired me because some little bitch decided to request it because of my sex life.

Wow that's awkward. It's not professional at all for your teacher not to consider how their relationship might affect you. She might know how to teach a subject but she's not a really 'good teacher' if she would do something like this with the parent of one of her students. Not to mention your mother having an affair while married. Sounds like these two 'adults' are pretty childish and selfish. I'm sorry for you. If you have trouble dealing with the situation, maybe you could talk to your school counselor or something. -Someone- should care about how you're affected!

Innapropriate behavior with the parent of a student is cause for firing. BTW, I'd go for revenge. Dead fish in her desk or innapropriate items in her classroom would work.

No it's not. You can't just say that because you think that it is. Find one case where a teacher has been dismissed for consensual relations with the parent of a student.
