Just because a lot of you who seem to think that having a child out of wedlock is ok, doesn't mean that that being judgmental disappeared with self respect. Sure it's more acceptable to have a child out of wedlock these days, but judgement and first time impressions are never going to go away. And I'm sure that not any single one of you can say you have never passed judgement on someone yourself. I'm sure the OP has passed judgement on someone herself at some point or another. #136- the numbers for high schoolers engaging in intercourse is approx 54% as of 2008. I can't say for college, but I know it's not that high (95%). It all depends on the stats you look at. (I did an extensive research project on that)
More shallow platitude. Stop slamming each other and get back on topic. I don't think what happened was evil, just totally irresponsible. When people talk about waiting for marriage, the ideal is not messing your kids lives. If you want to have your offspring be messed up and hate you for playing around with fate, thats your call. YDI for toying with fate.
That really sucks that someone would do that. Welcome to the 21st century, everyone. And also... To all those people who are beating her up for "having sex before marriage, because that's just wrong", well maybe it was an ACCIDENT :O. Maybe she just didn't want an abortion. Maybe she doesn't believe in marriage, because you don't really need marriage in a relationship, and seriously... divorce is really messy with all the legal crap. And maybe she is married. Maybe she wasn't wearing her ring for whatever reason... The ring is a symbol, and, while it represents eternity and whatever, it's not required. The world does not need to know that your love is eternal. You and your partner need to know that your love is eternal. So the case probably is that OP and her baby's father are happy together and love each other enough to have children, and that's as good as marriage. Maybe the baby's father broke up with OP. I don't know. Make judgments when you know the person. As I said, welcome to the 21st century. Hope you like it here.
YDI for being a *****. But thank you for not getting an abortion
Marriage has nothing to do with religion. It's two people that choose to live their lives together and, in most cases, raise a family. For all we know, maybe the OP is married and forgot her ring or her husband/boyfriend abandoned her. I have no problem with people having sex before they're married. Sure I don't agree with having kids before marriage and if I were pregnant and unmarried I'd have an abortion. Does that make me a horrible evil bitch with no heart? No. So to all you fundamentalist Christians and various uptight religions, do the world a favor: shut the **** up or kill yourselves. The world would be a much better place without you guys running around declaring your ludicrous beliefs and attempting to strip people of their rights.
Marriage is an artificial institution, not birthing children out of wedlock, haha. You people act as if marriage has been around forever or something.
That's so stupid. First, who the **** cares if you're married anymore. I could write a whole argument, but it's not even worth it. Secondly, I love how she just assumes. Maybe you lost your ring? Maybe you were getting it fixed? Maybe you just don't wear it? My parents have been married for 30 years, but my mom rarely wears her ring anymore. Apparently that bitch thinks you can only be married if you have the jewelry.
For all you know she may be married. When I get married I wont have a wedding ring. I'm Muslim and a ring is a Christian symbol. She may also have taken the ring off for some reason or another. And before you judge her consider this, it takes two to make a baby. No one tells the father he is a man ***** or is irresponsible. Why? because he doesn't have to ware the evidence under his shirt.
That woman is a judge mental bitch. You don't have to be married to have children. And for all the woman knows the OP is married and just doesn't have need for the ring to show it because she and her husband don't have to show others through a little piece of jewelery. My mother raised six children on her own because when she was pregnant with me my dad had three other woman pregnant. Its possible that the OP was planning to get married but something happened and they didn't but she still wanted the child.

You people do realize that not all people exchange rings when they are getting married. My cousins are SDA and they don't believe in wedding rings. They have three kids and I would hate for people to look down on her just b/c she isn't wearing a ring when she has been married for many years now.
Some people don't believe in a god, so the choose to not be married under a god. Marriage is a religious concept; if you don't have a religion, why bother getting married? Just because someone isn't married doesn't mean they can't have kids. That lady was quite rude :(
