Today, I got sick in the airsick bag as my flight landed. The woman next to me, trying to make me feel better, says "Don't handle landings too well?" I responded "No, I actually fly fine, I'm just 8 weeks pregnant." She looked at my left hand, noticed no ring, rolled her eyes and looked away. FML

You people do realize that not all people exchange rings when they are getting married. My cousins are SDA and they don't believe in wedding rings. They have three kids and I would hate for people to look down on her just b/c she isn't wearing a ring when she has been married for many years now.

Some people don't believe in a god, so the choose to not be married under a god. Marriage is a religious concept; if you don't have a religion, why bother getting married? Just because someone isn't married doesn't mean they can't have kids. That lady was quite rude :(

Being pregnant does not make this woman a *****/****/tramp... just because she doesn't have a ring doesn't mean anything. I was born 3 months before my parents were married that doesn't mean my parents weren't in love. People are stupid.

this whole thing makes me sick. on most of the other fmls the people commenting seem to be pretty good people, yet on this one, nearly everyone is advocating sinfulness. You people need to go to church or read the bible or something. Maybe you'll learn that marriage is more than a piece of paper, and completely necessary because of what it stands for.

So it is safe to assume that you don't plan things well and will probably be on government assistance for food, medical care, continuing education, housing and anything else you can't afford. So glad 20% of my paycheck is subtracted in taxes for you and yours. FML.

Okay, can I just say that is really rude and disrespectful just to say that because someone isn't married they'll end up on government assistance. I know people that aren't married, have children and the only support of governmental support they get is Baby Bonus checks, which every mother in Canada gets. And seriously, who gives a fly rat's buttocks what the grumpy bitch thinks that's sitting next to you on a plane. If you are single, and I'm not saying that you are, but if, there is nothing wrong with it, all the power to you, hope everything works out well with the pregnancy. My mum doesn't wear wedding rings, never has this marriage (she divorced my daddy when I was a kid), but when she remarried she thought that they were pointless.

Most of the time when pregnant, the woman's feet & hands swell up, & cannot wear the ring because it could cut of the circulation. Maybe she took it off before she even started to swell.

Seriously, that was extremely rude that woman did that to you. Even if she doesn't believe in sex before marriage she shouldn't show her emotions. THat really pisses me off. She doesn't know your background or your history she's just assuming you're a ****. You could be with the baby's father for like, four years without getting married. Or maybe you just don't believe in marriage. Or maybe you just didn't have your ring on during the flight. People can be so damn rude sometimes...

People were having children for thousands of years before marriage in any way, Christian weddings or otherwise :) That's why we're here... weddings do not a child make. I think that they CAN be a good idea; they're legally binding & the kid MAY have more support if the parents divorce. But that's not even the case every time! People should get married if they want to, and have children if they want to.
