to #21, in a LOT of cultures still people live at home until their married. If they move out before that, it's looked upon as bad. "Why would they move out? Is there something wrong with their family?" Whereas here it's the complete opposite. My sister moved back at 25 because she broke up with her fiance who she shared an apartment with at the time. I on the other hand am 22 and don't plan on living at home ever again, despite the $30,000+ in college loans, because I just don't get along with my mom and we live in a tiny, boring town. And i can't have sex b/c my bedroom's next to hers and she thinks I should wait til marriage even tho it's too late. Lots of reasons why people do and don't live at home. If you were 34 tho, I'd say diff story.
Having to tell a girl your parents won't let you have her stay over is pretty embarrassing; however, realistically you living with your parents at 24 isn't anything to be ashamed of. The job loss quota in the USA is at the highest it's been in over a decade. Times are tough, and so is paying the rent. Take it easy, save, research your options, and when the timing is right, find somewhere that doesn't have a "No Girls Allowed" policy.
Im not quite sure whats worse, the fact that your 24 and still live with your parents, or the fact that your 24 and your parents wont let you have a sleepover with a girl.
I stayed at home through school to save my folks money because I was taking 9-10 classes a semester and didn't have time for a job. I just graduated. My sister demanded they pay for her apartment next to her school. She never finished and now works retail while living... at home. Stop shit-talking people who live at home. Living away from home doesn't mean you have your shit together.
It's fine to live with your parents for a while after 18. 24 is getting kind of up there though.
wow, sorry to say this but thats sad
Don't worry about it. I'm 22 and my friends who do have their own place never do anything fun because of a lack of money. And they complain about every single expense - down to their girlfriends' stuff. So yeah, at least they're living independently, right? People will make any petty excuse to put you down, especially when they have their own petty problems, so just ignore them.
so? me and my girlfriend are both that old and we have sleep overs all the time. Also sleep != sex.

Right now, lots of 24 year-olds live with their parents. Normally I'd be with #2 and say get a job, but obviously the job market is pretty poor at the moment.
I don't really think that would be considered a sleep over when you're that old :P
