Today, I had to yet again tell my mother-in-law that I wasn't going to name my unborn baby "Ermintrude" after her late mother. My husband told me to stop being difficult, and that he agrees that it would be nice. FML

I can even say that name without thinking I said it wrong. don't let the life you save might just you childs

Tell them that it's YOUR child, and if they want to name something with that name to get a damn dog. At least the dog would come to the name more willingly than would a child. If that were my name I would act like I had never seen my parent before in my life. Just sayin'.

I'm certain my kid would **** me up if I name him/her as such.

Plz dnt do that to your child

That's what middle names are for. Win-win situation.

Well think of it as honoring your husband's grandmother not her mother. Then use your creative juices to take a price of that name and a piece of your grandmothers name combined into a cute unusual middle name. Then you have honored both families. I am not really sure what can be done with it not knowing your grandmothers name, but get your friends together and see if they can combine the two into something you like. You might like it well enough to make it the first name. : ). Congratulations on the baby. I know you will be over joyed when she gets here.
