Initially there was no reason for you to ignore it like that. You love it, don't you? I know sometimes they can be annoying, but c'mon... Now... it depends on your cat, but the tone of the FML suggested your cat doesn't often do this. If you knew that, then you shouldn't have ignored your cat. Obviously it was trying to tell you something. "Hold me I'm not feeling well" then it dies or "Hey I'm not feeling well give me attention [and possibly realize I'm dying]" then you take it to the vet... (not a gaurantee it wouldn't die, though) And you call it your cat, yet you couldn't read the signs that lead to this? I mean, even if it was just something sudden... surely if you really liked this cat you would have noticed something out of the ordinary?
Dude. Fyl. I have a cat too and he annoys the hell out of me. If it weren't for my mom, I wouldn't allow half of his crap.
Most all animals are really good at hiding their pain. Even in my dogs final hours she was happy. There is no way that the OP could have known. OP. I am really sorry for your loss.
You guys are fucken morons, seriously, I have had many cats, and they never meow at me when they are dying! They go somewhere quiet to die by themselves. Cats are always wanting attention, and you can't always give it to them! Clearly half you idiots have never owned a cat, or you would KNOW THIS. It is highly unlikely that any of you would know straight away that your cat was dying or sick just if they were meowing at you, you would most likely just think they wanted food or something!
Fffffffunny, my cats don't seem to be constantly harassing me for attention, and let me know when they're feeling unwell. I have had an average of seven cats per year for the last five years, too, so don't go popping off with "well obviously blahblah" bs again. I've raised all but one of our current six cats. I am very well aware of my animals, in other words.
But, you have to admit Dame, dogs are not as high maintenance as cats I mean can you play with all your cats and always have them entertained? Plus they suck the soul out of you when you sleep :P hahaha ___________________________ www.myspace.com/rapid99
LOL Actually dogs require more attention since most of them need training, and can't feed themselves... whereas a cat you can basically set loose and let it take care of itself. But no I can't entertain them all at once... One day, when I graft many arms to myself--!
Lol ok so I agree that you do have to feed them and let them out for an occasional duty (lol I said duty), they aren't high maintenance in the sense that you have to pick up after the hairballs, you don't have to shower them (my puppy loves the pool) :), you don't have to deal with meows when they're in heat, and so on. Plus isn't the point of having a pet to take care of it and enjoy it? What good is having a cat if you can't lay on the floor and have your pet come and try and lick you and you just start playing with it ^_^ Dogs rule cats drool :P (ok so that's from 1st grade) haha ________________________________ www.myspace.com/rapid99
Some lick, some don't... but oh god cats in heat is scary ahsjfsdjkldsk so glad all our females are fixed now
Exactly, no one wants to deal with a cat in heat. Now dogs, all you have to deal with is the occasional leg hump, but give him a stuffed giraffe and he forgets all about you lol __________________________ www.myspace.com/rapid99
You're not supposed to bathe cats. I must have lucked out with my cats, they don't throw up, they hardly use the litter box (because they go outside), and the one must think he's a dog because he follows me everywhere and always makes sure he's within like 5 feet of me. The only bad thing is that he figured out that screens are no match for him. But dogs destroy screen doors as well. Also, if you get them fixed, it's rare that they go into heat. Or you could just get a neutered male cat who will remain perpetually in kitten-hood and be the sweetest, most cuddly pet you've ever had. Plus, (most) kittehs are free!
Excuse me? Dogs are far more high maintence than cats! And while cats are very independent animals, they are also love attention (usually) and will often meow at you if they are hungry, or bored, or just want a pat. Let me get this straight, unless your cat is having a heart attack or something of the like, which makes it unable to move somewhere, if your cat is sick, it will generally go off somewhere quiet to die by itself! YOU should know this if your such a big cat lover! And to the people who say we sound like animal haters or whatever, I actually love animals and cats very much! But it is IMPOSSIBLE to give your cats ALL of your attention ALL of the time. I am completely against animal cruelty and neglecting, but I don't think this owner should 'go kill themselves' over this, like some of you do. If you were in this situation, and you DID pat the cat or whatever, would you really know it was dying? Unless it was making some strange noise, which the OP hasn't specified it was, I don't think a lot of you would!
you're a terrible terrible person.
maybe if she hadn't been getting ****** at the moment, she would've paid attention. YDI for being a ****. 'nuff said.
Wow.

it's more like your cat's FML "Today i was dying and i was trying to say goodbye to my owner, she just ignored me. FML"
that's horrible. poor cat.
