what a DOUCHE!!!!! :(
This isn't about chivalry, it's about common courtesy. Whether her leg was in a cast at this moment or not, you can't just push people around to get a better seat on the train. Honestly that guy was a jerk.
Though he should not have pushed you, there is a chance he was really only "seemingly" fit. There are plenty of invisible disabilities that can cause people to need a seat on the bus...disabilities that would likely become apparent if they didn't have a seat. I'm wondering what happened once you got on the bus. Did no one stand up? I hate seeing that--I've been standing on buses and trains when someone with a visible injury/disability got on, and no one offered them a seat. It's highly unlikely that an entire bus/train is full of people with invisible disabilities, but it's not fair to look at a particular person and say "YOU are the one to blame for not giving me a seat." It IS fair to say "you're a douche for pushing me out of the way," though. (And I'm saying that as someone who has broken a foot four times.)
Chivalry is almost dead because no one is there to appreciate it anymore. Girls don't want that, they prefer getting drunk and having sex with party fags. Watch me get attacked, because honesty is never rewarded.
beat him up with ur crutches :D
I feel for you, OP. But I do disagree with the chivalry being dead part. As a guy nowadays, it is so difficult to get the balance. You get all these girls and women with such a fierce sense of independence that once I held a chair for somebody and was told "I'm more than capable of doing that for myself THANK YOU". And yet women still want men who treat them right. Different women want different things. Any one woman might want different treatment at different times. A woman may want different things from different men. It's extremely hard to be chivalrous sometimes when you worry that you're going to be marked out as some sort of Neanderthal that thinks woman aren't capable of anything. Yes, we know you can (open the door yourself, carry your bags, sit down on your chair etc), but yes, we're doing it because we want to express care and concern and make your lives easier. This is why I will never stop trying. Despite the chance it may be thrown back in my face by a radical feminist, somebody, somewhere will appreciate it :)
My fiance loves how I am like that but it caused my last marraige to fail because she saw mw as a push over and decided I wouldn't care if she cheated, wasted all the money on her bf's, and thought the whole time I was too gullible to know it. My fiance now, though, finds it is very sweet and something she likes. Everything changes from one person to the next, yes, but that doesn't make what the guy did alright.
Now I have to say FYL...you were divorced for being too nice/caring/chivalrous!? There are actually no words. Well, I'll just say I wish you there very best of success for your new marriage to come. May the lucky woman appreciate what it is that you do :-)
