Today, I learned that my roommate, the one in charge of the cooking, never washes her hands beforehand. According to her, it boosts her immune system. FML

Well, according to her logic, your immune system is being boosted as well. I believe a thank you is in order, she's pumping up your system to defend against super-bugs!

#1 fail for her #2 whats it matter really? when she cooks all the diseases are killed by the heat.

Wow, over reaction much? Your room mate is actually right, the more you obsessively clean everything, the weaker your immune system is and you end up dying of the sniffles. ¬¬ Unless she's been playing with the toilet contents or gardening I'm not sure what you're all worried about. It's not like you can taste it or that it has any effect on you at all.

Your filthy roommate is somewhat right. However, she should still wash her hands after taking a dump for example. Bon apetit!

I agree with your roommate. I make it a point to not wash my hands throughout the day. Now if I take a dump, cook for others, or handle a newborn baby- anything that effects others-I will wash my hands. But I don't wash before cooking for myself and every time I go to the bathroom. In the long run, I will have a better immune system for it.

I don't know why you're getting thumbed down. I do the same thing and I never get sick. I know it sounds gross but it works.

You think not washing your hands after using the bathroom will strengthen your immune system? No, you'll just end up ingesting those germs and falling ill. Being in a sterile enviornment will make you prone to diseases. Being exposed to a regular enviornment day-to-day will make it easier to fight of diseases not lack of hand sanitisation.

Tell hee the story of typhoid mary. There's another bitch who didn't keep herself clean when cooking.

Tell her to hold you in her arms till you can feel her disease. Come together, right now, over dinner. *ok, that was kind of lame*

She really doesn't need to, unles she handles raw meat, toxic chemicals, corpses, or feces.

She could probably wipe her ass barehanded and still have less pathogens on her hands than on most meat products and even lots of vegetable products that end up contaminated by the practices employed by large CAFOs. That's just the way the incredibly corrupt United States food system works. This is why you damn well better cook your meat all the way through before you eat it.
