One of the people my dad hired to do yard work mowed over a nest of baby bunnies last summer. It was a terrible time. Accidents happen, although I don't know if I would have mowed over it again. At least you didn't leave it there to suffer, I guess.
At least you did the right thing, it's a bit like driving over a cat or dog. You didn't let it suffer.
...It depends on the injury sustained, plenty of them actually pull through...are you telling me if you hit a cat or dog you'd immediately just run it down again to make sure it's dead..?

Yeah it sucks but its just a bird...
I ran over a dead kitten once. It smelled so bad and was quite obviously dead before, but I felt soooo bad. It was awful.
That's how thanksgiving works.
