Guys comeon though, it's take out...in situations like that usually some coins are dropped in a jar, so a couple of dollars isn't bad....even if the OP crossed out a dollar (which seems ridiculous), ITS FREAKIN TAKE OUT. Who here tips at McDonalds drive through?
a restaurant is not mcdonalds. you are stupid.
She seems like a bitch. I hope you crossed it out to no tip after that. You don't even need to tip if you're picking it up, they didn't wait on you or deliver it to you.
no idiot. they got pulled away from their tables to answer your phone call. help your dumb ass on the phone to figure out your order. put it in the computer. wrap your order up to go and then service you when you come into pick it up. all the while they have tables who are tipping well being ignored because he has to deal with your stupid Togo order that you won't tip on. you are a dumbass who obviously doesn't see the whole picture.
stressed? no tips? spit on desserts!
YDI for not thinking before you wrote down the tip, and then lowering it by one (apparently very important) dollar. When paying, check the receipt, not the boobs. It was rude of her to comment on it, but you should've thought before writing in the first place.
Umm... if you thought she was cute, you should have manned up and left the one extra dollar. If you hadn't been a cheap jerk, maybe you could've gotten away with writing your phone number on there, too.
You did the right thing, tip any more then you're paying for it.
Take out . . . does this mean that you had the 'cashier' deliver it? If you walked in, paid, and took your own food out (yeah, I know, takeout) . . . you have no reason to tip anyway. I'm not trying to be mean, but I can't think of what the cashier could have done that was so spectacular. And she would have seen the changed amnt anyway - if I were in her position, I wouldn't have dared ask a customer a question like that. I'm surprised you didn't complain about her attitude and I'm surprised so many managers take that crap from their employees anyway.
Shocker, not really that bad thought?
am I the only one that thinks the cashier was the rude one? Take what you get, bitch.

What does it matter if she saw you do it or not? She would have seen it crossed out in a little bit anyway. It's a weird thing that you would bother to cross it out and lower it by only a dollar, seeing as how a dollar is relatively insignificant in the grand scheme of things, but it's just weird as opposed to horrible. Plus, it was only take out, people don't normally tip on take out at all so if I were her, I'd feel grateful to have even gotten a couple dollars.
I think what he means is that he wants the waiter to make the night good by providing good service and that they should have to work for a big tip and not just expect it
