Today, I proposed to a girl I'd been in love with for 6 years. I filled the balcony of the building where I'd first laid eyes on her with innumerable roses and, under the starlit sky, I did it. She later posted on facebook 'OMG. This geek I knew from high school did the FUNNIEST thing today'. FML

Today, I was going to propose to my girlfriend of 3 years. I got reservations for a romantic dinner, and at the end, fireworks would spell out my proposal. The whole thing had taken weeks to plan out and had cost me a lot of money. She proposed to me at a subway station first. FML

Today, I married the beautiful girl I’ve been in love with since we were both 6 years old. By married, I mean I performed the marriage ceremony as the vicar and watched her smile and kiss her arsehole boyfriend, now husband, right in front of me. FML

Ugh, these "in love with" FMLs are so iffy :/ YDI if you weren't actually dating her. FYL if you were, cuz she just called you a geek. But did she say yes or not?? (I'm going to assume that the girl was talking about the OP in her status, because getting proposed to is a HUGE thing, and it pretty much trumps everything else you might put in your status)

Hmm...I get the strangest feeling that this might not be a fake, but more along the lines of an attempted "clever" post that makes an FML out of a situation that is not in anyway an FML. Like if, perhaps, the two of them HAD been dating for 6+ years and he DID propose to her (and she accepted) and he just happened to see her status later that day and thought "I bet I could make a really good FML out of this!" Because that's naturally what all normal people would do on the day that their significant other has agreed to marry them. But hey, there are some weird people out there. I'm just saying that the vagueness of this makes me suspect that the OP is actually not in any type of FML situation and he just wanted to make it onto fmylife.com. I doubt it would be the first time.

You never said anything about this girl being your girlfriend or fiance and based on what she wrote on facebook, I doubt that you two were in any kind of relationship. You totally deserved it. You had no right to ask someone to marry you just because you are in love with her. This isn't the middle east. For two people to get married normally, their love must be mutual, not one-sided. You are such a loser.
