Today, I proposed to my girlfriend. She said yes, but the ring turned out to be quite tight on her finger. She then chewed me out, saying that I can't do anything right, then changed her answer to no. FML

Today, my proposal was slightly ruined when the ring I got her, which I could have sworn was the same size as other rings she owns, was a whole 3 sizes too big. She agreed to marry me but is now sulking because she thinks I think she’s fat and needs a big ring for her fat fingers. Give me a break. FML

Well, if you were trying to surprise her, how in tihe world could you just go up to her and be all, "Hey, what's your ring size?" It's easy to resize a ring; she shouldn't have reacted like that, OP, and I'm sorry she did. You deserve better.

Ok you dodged a bullet there imo. But a good trick for next time: I measured her finger with string while she was asleep during a late movie she'd wanted to watch and ended up hating. Take that measurement to a jeweler and they can help.

YDI for not knowing her ring size as it shows you didn't put much thought into this. It's like baking a cake for someone's party without even bothering to find out what cake they like, if they're allergic to certain ingredients, etc. Seems she made a smart choice and isn't one of those gals who just appreciates whatever a guy gives her no matter how little thought he put into it.
