Today, I returned home to find that my boyfriend's dog had gotten into the garbage and ripped all my used pads to shreds. There's a trail of Always tatters leading to his dog bed, and blood everywhere. My blood. Oh God. FML

Oh, I didn't see the word 'dog'.

I've had this happen to me before. Damn dogs. -_-"

Just a heads up...my dog did that about 8 mos ago with my pads/tampons, and it is really gross, but it's also really dangerous, she ended up with an obstruction and had to have two surgeries. So... you may wanna keep an eye on the dog.

how could she have done that with tampons? those get flushed down the toilet.

Ask any plumber, you're never supposed to flush tampons down the toilet.

you want us to throw them in the trash can? That's really gross

Wrap it in toilet paper? Most bathrooms have signs that say do not flush the tampons.

it says on the labels and warnings not to flush tampons in the toilet because they can clog them. just wrap them in toilet paper and throw them away, how is it that much different from throwing away pads? if you just throw pads away without wrapping them in something then you are nasty.

you can so flush tampons. they now say "flushable tampons" and even "flushable cardboard applicator"

and by the way, if your tampons are clogging the toilet, then you must have massive tampons. they're like no wider than your thumb. i'm just saying.

You're not supposed to flush tampons, even "flushable" ones. Even more so if you're on a septic system. What's more gross, throwing used tampons in the trash can or having to pump out your septic tank? :/

@ 68: It's different. Pads have an adhesive plastic side an the side that absorbs the blood, so you can just roll/fold it with the adhesive side on the outside and wrap it up to make sure it doesn't come unrolled. Tampons are basically a string with fiber on it to absorb blood, but can only hold so much liquid. There is really no unmessy way to "wrap up" a tampon. Hence, most people just plop it in the toilet.

This is why: 1. You don't leave stuff dogs will want in the garbage over night 2. You don't leave the garbage out in the open just in general, or if you must.. get one that locks up Those animals can be worse than kids sometimes

My dog did this once, except my dad was the one who found the mess.

Your picture is what dogs say when they eat pads/tampons

I only have one thing to say here: THERE WILL BE BLOOD!

An untrained dog left alone where he can get in the garbage which has blood. Who'd think there could be a problem? YDI.

I had a dog that would do that all the time... pads, tampons, and blood from the bathroom upstairs to the kitchen downstairs, I've decided I'm not a dog person...

Ah my dog does that if there is uncovered trash

My dog used to do that, so I had to buy a closed bin so he couldn't get into it. Sucks for you.
