even if the computer was drenched, unless it shorted something because u left it on. the information on the HD should still be salvageable, take it you a local computer store and you should be able to pay to get it placed onto a flash drive. Or, if you are lucky, you might be able to just let the computer sit for a long while, once dried out, it may still work.
YDI. You fail at every thing related to computers. Backup, backup, backup. Always backup. $hit send it to your self via email so you always have a back up copy that's on a server and not on a computer.
All hail network-drives!
lol yea and if u are dump enouugh to save stuff to C: drive instead of network drive then get an enclosure and put ur HDD in and try that on another comp... water shouldnt be able to get through a case and into a hard drive that easily :)

There are so many ways to make backups, and it doesn't need to take much time or be expensive. I

Back up your work. And if you'd finished it, why didn't you submit it early? You don't exactly deserve it, but by taking basic steps you could have avoided it.
It's possible the Hard-drive is still salvageable, depending on where the water went. Unless the whole things screwed, see if you can get the IT guy to retrieve the Hard-drive.
