Today, I saw a letter from Geneseo that invited me to apply to the honors college. Excited, I wrote the required two page essay on how I am organized. I then saw the strict deadline was March 15th. My little brother thought it would be funny to hide my mail. For the past seven weeks. FML

Hide your brother in the attic from your parents for 7 weeks =)

I definitely think you missed the entire point of this FML...

#83 you have no idea what you are talking about. SUNY Geneseo is compared to other great private schools but instead of you we do not come out with 100 k in debt =].

I don't get how none of you understand a large number of high school students don't get mail. I don't think anyone deserves to have mail regarding honors college information should be hid from them. It's a nice opportunity. I would be so angry if a younger sibling hid important mail from me.

THAT SUCKS. Oh my God. x( And you guys really need to not bash SUNY schools, cause I may have no choice but to attend one next year. And they're not all the same, I'm hoping I won't hate it there :/. Though I literally feel like crying every time I compare it to my dream private school. If only it wasn't all about the money :(.

I totally understand what you're going through. I was accepted to a 40,000$ a year, out of state private school, with a 6,000$ scholarship, but I was ineligible for ANY financial aid because of something screwy with my parents' taxes ?

I'm now paying my way through the local community college, which has the rep for being where all the kids who couldn't get accepted any where else goes... With a 29 on the ACT, 31 if super scoring, and a 4.0 gpa. I'm not at all happy, but it is keeping loans down.
