Today, I stepped on the MacBook Air I purchased 4 days ago. The screen snapped in two, and I didn't buy insurance because I promised myself I would be "extra careful." $3500 well spent. FML

How can you step on your macbook if you are "extra carefull"??? Putting it on the floor, or maybe you did dance on the table?, isn't carefull at all!

A quick tip: Send it to the company. Most computers have a 1 year gurantee from the company plus the additional one from the store but that one is optional. All you have to do is pay S/H. If you don't want your money to go to waste you might want to call customer service and ask about it. Goodluck and FYL.

YDI for sure for buying a piece of shit mac (coming from a graphic artist, so don't get uppity with me) and it wouldn't matter if you bought the insurance bc mac doesn't cover their screens on anything. just another reason they suck.

YDI for buying an overpriced, overhyped mac.

YDI for obviously not caring about it as much as you thought you do, especially if you were going to spend $3500 on it.

you can get it repaired once you have the money. it might be like $800 for a new screen plus time. accidental damage isn't ever covered under warrentys. but you can always pay for it to be fixed. I work at an apple repair place. make sure the people fixing your computer are apple certified or they will void the warrently on non-accident repair. (Like the logic board dies or something) good luck.

YDI for spending $3500 on a laptop because it's small.

For all u dissin apple ur my new bff's **** that gay ass company

way to be extra careful, oh and btw YDI for buying a $3500 mac that can't do anything more than an average $500 PC

You really think so? An average Dell Mini ($500) is shit for gaming compared to a MacBook pro I'm not saying anything else

The Pro and the Air are different. The Air can barely even run Flash games. Actually, there are some out there that it probably can't.

One of the significant problems with Macs are that you can't buy individual parts & personalise. Once one part dies the whole thing is screwed & you either have to pay for a repair or buy a new one. With a PC you can replace whatever parts need replacing and keep the rest of it, and you get what you pay for: if you buy an el-cheapo hard drive, chances are it won't last long. If you pay a bit more for it (still won't be paying 3/4 the price of the Mac equivalent) it will be fine. Btw... I have a friend whose Mac (less than 4 years old) died on her, meaning she could not retrieve ANYTHING off it. (Plus she'd forgotten to back up, but that's her fault). I've never had a PC hard drive die that badly.

Hard drives are hard drives. You can replace your Macbook hard drive with a SATA hard drive that you can buy online. You just research good hard drives, read reviews, and find one with a good warranty. As for the laptop "dying", wtf does that mean? Did the hard drive shit the bed? If so, go to buy.com or newegg.com and get a new one. Take the OS install CD, and install. Computer works again! Sure you lost all your data, but it's your fault if you didn't back it up.

do i even have to say YDI x 10^9999 for buying an overpriced piece of shit

Op is a bit of a moron for stepping on it but to all the ppl saying macs are pieces of crap that cost 10 times they're actual worth? Yeah ok you can get a better pc for the same money but that means you have to put up with shitty windows vista these days... Honestly i would rather have windows 95 than vista! and if i had the money i'd be more than ready to pay a bit of a premium to have mac os rather than vista.... but I'd buy a macbook anyways... the air is pure gimmick
