Today, I stepped on the MacBook Air I purchased 4 days ago. The screen snapped in two, and I didn't buy insurance because I promised myself I would be "extra careful." $3500 well spent. FML

How can you step on your macbook if you are "extra carefull"??? Putting it on the floor, or maybe you did dance on the table?, isn't carefull at all!

just purchase a new warranty tell them you decided to go ahead and purchase it, wait two weeks, after you buy it, then call and tell them the bad news, that's what i did. but then again i didn't step on mine. Make sure you know what's covered in that warranty read the fine print have them explain it in detail.

i'm surprised you could actually realize that you did step on it?! now they have to make it thinner lol.. can i have a bag of douche please?. oh, how could i forget, we already have one here!!.

YDI for buying an overpriced computer from an evil company.

YFDI, you being extra careful, being a stubborn person, took the risk on an expensive, shitty laptop.

YDI for buying a Mac. You can get a $1000 PC that has a faster processor and more memory than any Mac. Windows 7 > Mac OS X anyway.

I almost believed you until I read the last line and realized you were joking. Nice one :D

Sorry to burst your bubble, but the fact that Windows 7 isn't released yet doesn't make it a joke, due to the fact that even in BETA it's a head and shoulders better than OSX. (Then again, I can't think of any Windows release that isn't.) If anything, they've tried to make it TOO much like a Mac (in the manner of arbitrary limitations on the OS' flexibility), but there are fixes for that if you know what you're doing.

No, the 30 day won't cover accidental. And you CAN buy accidental coverage on a laptop, at least from Best Buy.

If you'd like to spend $3500 more on that "fml feeling", just give it to me then I'll bitchslap you.

insurance often won't cover physical damage....

Mac insurance is crap anyway. they only pay for something if it's their fault. If you had the insurance it wouldn't have done anything anyway. I found this out when I got oil in my mac and I had the insurance. They didn't do shit.
