How old are you? I know older people tend to hear their biological clocks ticking, and therefore have shorter dating periods before they get married, but to me nine months seems WAY too short...

I can't imagine marrying someone after dating them for nine months. Your girlfriend probably freaked out because you're moving too quickly. Plus you guys are probably young and she might not have even been thinking about marriage with you.

Yeah... I think you jumped the gun on this one OP. I mean at least wait until the year is over. Maybe you can still salvage it if you apologize. She might just think that you're either too obsessed with the idea or that you don't take it seriously enough.

9 months, wow, I mean are you 19 and is this your first "real" relationship? Then again I've seen people well into their 30s/40s who have never had a relationship and every time they get to date #2 they are like "wow she might be the one!" lol.

dude, it has only been 9 months. it'd freak anyone out if they were told that after being together for such a long time. well now you know that while you're ready for a long term relationship with her, she's not. and now you know that you should would much longer than just 9 months before you say about such stuff to the other person.
