Really? No second date, all because she lied about having sushi and made a fool of herself by doing so, which likely only happened because she wanted to impress you? That's a really poor excuse and, unless more than that happened, maybe you should give her a second chance. Most people are nervous on first dates and do better on the second dates because the awkwardness is already out of the way.
Don't worry OP my now girlfriend of over a year mistakes the wasabi as icing.. Btw I work in a sushi bar so I see this happen on a regular anyways lol
Maybe she had only had shop sushi (I always eat that with my fingers) and most packs don't come with wasabi
I need the name of your sushi place. where I go always has wasabi and doesn't care if it's in the corner or all over your sushi or hidden under a piece of sushi for you to accidentally eat.
I eat sushi all the time but can't use chop sticks to save my life.
Just cause she's had sushi before doesn't mean she's an expert. It took me almost a year to master chopsticks and I wasn't sure what wasabi was for a while. Maybe she's only had it once. Really shallow reason to not take her on another date....
Knowing how to use chopsticks has no correlation to how often one has eaten sushi. I have personally eaten at sushi restaurants at least 3 times a month for the past year and still can't use them. Some people just don't have the hand stability and grasp for it. Also, she might have gone with friends before who had purposely asked for no wasabi because they can't handle it or don't like it. There are valid reasons for this experience that in no way make her undatable or unintelligent.
That sounds like a funny, adorable moment. You're a snob if that's the reason you won't go out with her again.
I'm a girl and I eat wasabi like guacamole, by the spoonful. I love the stuff. Can't see your problem.
Wow, you must have the clearest sinuses in the whole of France.

Maybe she was too shy to say that she hadn't? Some girls don't want to disappoint guys sometimes, so maybe she said yes because she knew you liked sushi?
At least she didn't mistake the wasabi for pistachio ice cream :P
