Man, you lost out on a great chance for an ice breaker or some contact in showing her to use chopsticks. It isn't even necessary to use them, fingers work just as well and it is just as "authentic" that way.
I eat sushi all the time but still can't use chopsticks. Sushi is just hand food to me.
There won't be a second date because she can't eat sushi? Wow that's really shallow OP
Maybe she always used her fingers. It took months of eating sushi for me to finally use chopsticks. That said, not being able to use chopsticks sounds like a really stupid deal breaker.
I was under the impression that she didn't want a second date. She was probably embarrassed and didn't want to go on a date again. I don't know why everyone is bashing OP.
you know what? you probably CAN get a second date. let her know it is OK to not have ate sushi before and ask her if there is something else she haven't tried before, but this time reassure her she doesn't have to pretend anymore.
Maybe she'd never eaten it with chopsticks before? I've never seen anyone eat it that way, and avocado is popular in sushi.

Maybe she was too shy to say that she hadn't? Some girls don't want to disappoint guys sometimes, so maybe she said yes because she knew you liked sushi?
At least she didn't mistake the wasabi for pistachio ice cream :P
