Today, I used a public bathroom. I hung my purse up on the hook on the door. Two minutes later, a hand reaches over the door and steals my purse. I got robbed while taking a crap. FML

I hate public bathrooms, I hold all of my things and I never sit down unless I put toilet paper down on the seat. They are disgusting and they smell. That really sucks that you got robbed. FYL

Public restrooms are the worst. I avoid them. You'd be wise to do the same. Hold it in. Or keep your belongings close to your person. FYL.

Probably by saying something like, "I was caught with my pants down..." BTW, this is an extremely common form of theft. As snopes notes: http://www.snopes.com/crime/warnings/handbag.asp Some places have taken the hooks off the doors as a result - and thieves responded by putting up their own hooks!

I'm a dude, and even I know you're not supposed to hang your purse on that hook for exactly that reason. YDI... though the person who took it is an asshole.

I've always been cautious about hanging my purse in the stall cos I've heard about that! Even if I put my purse on the hook, I somehow manage to grab it so that if a person tried to steal it, it wouldn't come off the hook easily. Guess my paranoia is worth something! SORRY FYL

This happened to my aunt- who was on her way to the jewelers to get my late-grandmother's wedding ring worked on. Her purse was stolen, along with the ring that was inside it.

I'm guessing she saw it happening but couldn't get up and chase the person in time seeing as how crap is coming out of her ass? Don't know... unless she was supposed to do the waddle. That would be awkward turtle status though... and I'm pretty sure someone could outrun her.
