I like how people assume, because they do not like them and do not want them, that piercings are a cry for help or disgusting. I think they can look cute if done right. Some pierced people are scary and it is a bit excessive in some cases, but people need to **** off of people who like them. And damn, getting it ripped out has to hurt.

And people most certainty do not deserve to get slapped for getting them. The mother was out of line.

I know a lot of cultures where piercings and tattoos have a big cultural importance and everyone has them. Piercing culture is something one chooses to become part of. If you have a right to not get them, to wear what you like and do as you please (within the law) then people are allowed to be different and diverse.
