Today, I was at the mall with my little brother. I saw him touching some expensive objects, so I slapped his arm. I noticed he wasn't my brother when he started crying and his real mom slapped me in the face. FML

I like your approach of slap first, ask questions later. You would make a good pimp.

How can this be anything else then a YDI?

Repeat. Or very very similar to one at a vendors booth in the mall.

slapping and hitting are 2 different things. but this is still a ydi for not knowing who it was.

Guys, if you are complaining that he deserves it for slapping the child, then you are very wrong. Children don't learn by, "OH!!! HOW CUTE!! But we can't touch it." and walk off, when I was a child, when I did this, my mom slapped me, pretty hard too, and, it is like fire. Hand over fire, it hurts, you learn if it happens again, it hurts again. Now the mom of the child deserves for letting him run off and touch everything, who knows where a little childs hands are! OP: Man that sucks, I hope that lady gets a clue soon. But yeah, maybe checking could be a good idea, oh well, least you got the right idea.

I'm glad you're one of the few people left who have the common sense to smack a child if it's needed, but YDI for not LOOKING at who you were slapping first.

Well I hope you ****** that heifer up

bahahahshhahahahahahhaha wow thats funny!!!!!!!!!! but speaking from experiance its not that hard to mistake a strangers kid for the one your responsible for!!

im still stuck at the part where you said "real mom". did you think you were your brothers mother?

yeah shes probaly her "brothers" real mom and is just to embaresed to say she got knocked up at a young age

OMG after reading these comments i am appaled at what this world has come to!!!! since when does asking a child nicely to do something worked????? (especially if its a sibling your correcting) hell no it never has and never will!!! there is a diffrence in correcting a child and abusing one!!!! the op was clearly just correcting who she thought was her little brother. (which is an honest mistake) if this would have been me when i was little my parents would have taken me out of the store and tore my ass up for touching expensive and from what i may infer breakable things! hell no wonder most adolecents and young adults think there are no conciquences for their actions these days!! i thought that was just a new york and cali thing!

Agreed. Everyone needs to chill out. There's nothing wrong with a little slap on the hand/arm to get their attention. It's a pshycological thing. They learn not to do it quicker than being told nicely a bunch of times. I bet anybody who thinks that's abuse was one of snotty little kids whose parents let them get away with anything.

Haha, I'm sorry. I hate when people do this, but this is too much. As much as I agree with #41, I can't help noticing how young this particular commentor sounds. From the blatent overuse of big words and phrases like "apaled" "if i may infer" "adolecents" and "conciquedences" to the fact that (s)he said something like "what this world has come to" as if (s)he has been around long enough to see the world change. I sorry, but I just find it hilarious when kids try to sound older than they actually are and try and present an idea that, by itself, would work well and even stand up logically, just becomes a lopsided rant. I'm sure many of you will disagree, but I just couldn't let it go unnoticed...
