Today, I was closing the deal on this beautiful $200k ranch in the country. The buyer soon pulls up and we get to discussing the contract terms, soon the buyer asks the seller," Wow why is this house going so cheap?" The seller replies, "Do you believe in ghosts?" There goes my $8,000 commission. FML

Wow. That is totally screwed up. I hope the seller was saying that as a joke, if the seller wasn't then they are a total idiot.

You got the wrong buyers. If I had the money, I would've bought the house BECAUSE of the ghosts. Unless they were vengeful spirits. I'm sorry though, that really sucks. Especially in this global economy XP.

you only get 4%? that sucks. most realtors i know get 6%.

I wouldn't want a new movie called "The haunting in the beautiful 200k ranch house in the country" based off of a true story of me being killed by a haunting.

#7 - IMO the seller totally deserves it for saying something like that in front of a buyer =/. Whereas the OP was just doing their job, trying to earn a living.

#7: The seller lost 200k for their own stupidity. The OP lost 8k for other's stupidity.

to #7..the problem is...dontaskdonttell was trying to do his job to earn this money but the owner was stupid enough to say something to get the deal off...and the owner wasn't the one who did all the work..conclusion : owner deserves what he got...not dontasktonttell

"psychological condition of the house" LOL
