Today, I was going to propose to my girlfriend. I had been hiding the ring in the sock drawer. When I went to retrieve it, the ring was gone and in its place was a sticky note that said "NO." FML

OP, you need to tell her to give the ring back. You didn't ask her so you never gave it to her. She assumed you were going to ask her, and then took the ring and preemptively declined your proposal. If you had asked her and she refused, etiquette would have demanded she either accept both or refuse both. Etiquette also says if she breaks the engagement, she should return the ring. Basically put, she stole your ring and then said she would not marry you.

Ask for the ring back. Tell the bitch it was not for her anyway, it is for "Misti" who works at the titty bar down the street. If she will not return it, file a police report. I hope you have the receipt to prove ownership. She had no business taking it, it was not offered to her.
