Nah , op is a chick ,and probably too old!
Drop me a line. I'm at : [email protected]. I look forward to hearing from you.
Hey thats my email!
Don't tell em where u live
Why not pen pal a soldier overseas instead?
Soldiers could use it more than someone who's locked up
Not really - soldiers get time to go and see their family/friends, plus most have Internet to Skype, etc! Some prisoners are isolated 24 hours a day with no company at all. Solitary confinement was used as a torture method in WW2 and is truly awful.
True we do get all that now, but sometimes getting an old fashioned letter can be more endearing while you're overseas.
There is a HUGE difference between soldiers & prisoners of war versus convicts. Seriously, convicts who are isolated 23 hours out of each day put themselves in that situation by being a potentially lethal danger to those around them.
Service men & women are isolated for making a morally sound decision to live an honorable life protecting others' freedoms and rights. Convicts are isolated for making immoral decisions and leading a dishonorable life risking others' freedoms and rights. Again, huge difference.
127-It's somewhat ironic that soldiers got themselves in their situation to try to be just the same sort of threat, for the good reasons of course but I like the humor in it.
Veterans' groups are good for meeting guys. Veterans' hospitals are a great choice for pen-pals; friends and family all too often drift away from the long(er)-disabled vets, so contact is most welcome.
That's not a bad thing. It'd be like visiting them-I'm sure the guy you write to needed a normal human contact to stay on track away from whatever put him in there.

It's a shame that all the good ones are locked up.
A "pen pal" who is in the penitentiary. Not a good choice OP.
