Today, I was teaching my daughter how to ride a bike with no training wheels. After comforting her and assuring her that she'd be fine, I gave her a big push. She fell forward over the handlebars and scraped her chin on the front wheel. FML

Dear god, don't worry OP! It was an accident and you both learned from it, don't worry! I'm sure you haven't scarred her! (:

I can ride my bike with no handle bars, no handle bars

How do you steer then? And do you want a medal for being such a hard ass?

Haha phishlover is a moron.

When my uncle decided to teach my sister he took her to the top of a steep hill and let her go. Almost same results. glad my uncle didn't try to teach me before my dad had a chance.

Next time the OP has a baby, her daughter should tell her to give a big push.

No worries OP, that kiddo is going to have lots of scrapes and bruises in her life. Hope you used it as a life lesson and told her to get back up and try it again!

you're not supposed to push 'em ya dolt, you hold the back of the seat so they keep their balance and then you let go. great parenting.

It's ok - most kids have accidents when learning how to ride a bike with no training wheels. You were there to help when she fell but of course you feel awful.

That's okay, us Nova Scotians are tough as nails!

Tell her it's okay and to keep her CHIN up

Usually the patent doesn't give the bike a big push, usually they run along holding it while the kid pedals and when the kid seems well balanced and going good they let go! FHL, she's the one that got pushed over the handle bars!
