Today, I was waitressing for a huge family. Their bill was $750. Excited about the tip, I was shocked to see only $0.50. As they were leaving, I threw the two whole quarters at their heads. Guess who also got fired today. FML

they probably should've left a better tip, but at the same time you can't throw quarters at a customers head and not expect to be fired.

I am a server and have been the whole time I have been in the workforce. We make $2.13 an hour and I don't even get a paycheck because there is nothing left after taxes are taken out. Not only do we rely on tips to pay bills, we also have to tipout some of our tips to other employees. At my resturant it is 3%, so on a $750 tab I'm tipping out $22.50. So when you tip just .50 I basically had to pay to wait on you. Tips are our paychecks, so how would you feel if you went to pick up yours to go pay bills and all you got was an invoice saying you owe $22, i'm sure you would be pretty pissed and might throw something.

I am a server and here in America we make $2.13 an hour which I never see a dime of because it gets eaten up in taxes. We also have to tip out a percentage of our sales to help pay other employees' salaries. So excuse us if we feel like we are entitled to a tip for our service, it is our paycheck. Also our job is far from easy, so please don't insult us further by saying its hardly work.

You THREW QUARTERS at the customers? That's an assault. You should be reported to the police. A tip is not automatic, it is not something they are obligated to pay to you, it is if they are happy about the service. To physically assault people because they did not tip is unconscionable. You deserve to be fired and never to be hired in a customer service capacity anywhere again.

You people are damn idiots. I saw a comment on why I don't tip my dentist? Because if he doesn't do his job he could get sued or lose his license. It IS expected here in the USA.
