Today, I went into labor and got my husband drive me to the hospital. Instead of staying by my side, he rushed back home for a World of Warcraft raid. His excuse? His friends were counting on him and they'd be pissed if he let them down. FML

Some guys get really squeamish about childbirth, but simulated gore and other types of bloody mess don't bother them. He may have not wanted to see you in pain. His excuse sucked, but try asking him if that was the real reason. If so, he has a lot of apologizing to do.

What if he doesn't like hospitals? My bf hats hates hospitals and will not go to one even if he has a family member there. I don't want to be mean but we only are hearing one side of the story.

He needs to man the hell up, then! None of that is an excuse. not even an aversion to hospitals. Being a parent is dealing with unpleasantries like blood, poop, pee, barf, mucus -even soaking through your own clothes all over you. He helped create this child, so he needs to be there to welcome him or her into the world (even in the waiting room would be better than nothing!!!!)

I'm all for gaming. I'm a gamer chick. But there are certain responsibilities that come way before gaming. If my husband did this, that would be the last child we ever have. Wouldn't want to disrupt his bromance on WOW with another labor.

Your wife going into labor is a valid reason for having to bail. If the raiding party can't understand that then he needs a new party not missing his kids birth.
