I'm sorry OP but he doesn't sound like a guy who's ready to be a dad.
His game addiction should not come as a surprise, you married him.
Some guys get really squeamish about childbirth, but simulated gore and other types of bloody mess don't bother them. He may have not wanted to see you in pain. His excuse sucked, but try asking him if that was the real reason. If so, he has a lot of apologizing to do.
so he couldn't just wait in the waiting room if he was so squeamish? At least just knowing he's in the hospital while she's giving birth would've helped a lot .
What if he doesn't like hospitals? My bf hats hates hospitals and will not go to one even if he has a family member there. I don't want to be mean but we only are hearing one side of the story.

He needs to man the hell up, then! None of that is an excuse. not even an aversion to hospitals. Being a parent is dealing with unpleasantries like blood, poop, pee, barf, mucus -even soaking through your own clothes all over you. He helped create this child, so he needs to be there to welcome him or her into the world (even in the waiting room would be better than nothing!!!!)
Okay, I play this game and I would never do that. My wife being pregnant is far more important than some petty pixels attacking each other.
@52, And that is a why you are win. Ahem...let me get my game show voice.... CONGRAAA-A-a-aTULATIONS! You have won this fabulous new prize. It's the "Not-Asshole-Of-The-Day" award**" Worth absolutely nothing, and not actually a tangible award... but boy, will it make you feel good about yourself! ツ **Disclaimer: Award strictly textual, you will not receive an award in the mail in 2-85 weeks. Because that would be creepy.
Dude's git his priorities straight ... NOT !!!
divorce that shit.
Well. That's rather messed up. Meanwhile... you're FMLing the same day you gave birth? Way to bounce back. :P
She had a baby, not open heart surgery. Even if she had a section, she wouldn't be unconscious in bed.
You might wanna end his subscription. He should man up and be a good husband and a good father. Since when is it okay to put your friends over your wife?
I'm all for gaming. I'm a gamer chick. But there are certain responsibilities that come way before gaming. If my husband did this, that would be the last child we ever have. Wouldn't want to disrupt his bromance on WOW with another labor.
Your wife going into labor is a valid reason for having to bail. If the raiding party can't understand that then he needs a new party not missing his kids birth.

Sounds like your baby needs a step dad
You can always have another kid. But that WoW raid will never happen again.
