Today, I went on a group job interview, where all the applicants seem to have the same qualifications. When the interviewer dismissed all of us but the prettiest girl, outraged, I told him he was a prejudiced pig, and should be ashamed of himself. Apparently she was the only one who had a car. FML

Seriously you expected sympathy for this? YDI.

I won't deny better looking people do get jobs more easily, but YDI for assuming someone pretty couldn't be just better qualified.

well YDI for yelling at the guy and voicing that opinion when there was a good chance you could be wrong and leave looking like a dumbass. in all honestly, i might've thought the same thing if i saw that happen..prettier people do tend to get stuff handed to them, but there is no way i would've said that out loud.

If you all had the same qualification, even if the pretty girl didn't have a car, she would still have gotten the job fair and square. He would only be a pig if she didn't have the qualifications for the job. YDI for being a bitter negative whiner.

I'm gonna have to agree with a large majority of the opinions in here.. You had absolutely no reason to yell and accuse the boss of something like that. And even if you were correct, you would never have been hired anyway, because no one wants a person who will scream like a child to work in a professional environment. She also "seemed" to have the same qualifications. For all you know she didn't. You had no right whatsoever to feel so morally enlightened that you could accuse the interviewer of prejudice. Lesson: Don't explode like a child you're an adult; Act lie one! Feminism 0 Rationality 1

this isn't feminism. this is just a pretty little package of jealousy, all wrapped up in a sparkly combination of entitlement and bitchiness.

Well, in a way it is, because the woman accused the man of being prejudiced because he chose the more attractive female.. a feminist would say that to choose the more attractive female would be chauvinist and would say the man was prehudiced to do so. I am merely interpreting the OP's response and line of thinking to be as such.

No, a feminist would never, EVER imply that another woman only qualified for a job based on her physical appearance. Ever. This was not feminism. It was a case of low self-esteem and bithcyness.

So pretty girls can't also be good at their jobs? That assumption is just as sexist as the interviewer would be if he only hired her because she was pretty. YDI.

It's human nature. Even without the car she probably would have been hired. Pretty people get jobs more easily. Accept it and move on. Plus, if all the applicants have exactly the same qualifications then something needs to separate them.

@Dalarsco [#52] except if it's a woman doing the hiring. :P then they don't want anybody better looking then them. XD sometimes...not always.
