Today, I went to a fast-food joint and ordered off the $1.00 menu to save money. Five hours later I go to the hospital with food-poisoning. After a whole day of not eating, crapping, puking, having tests, and a bunch of IV fluids, my $1.00 burger ended up costing me $2,000 in bills. Really. FML

Yea, I agree. Sue the hell out of them and #19... where did he say that he got this from Mexicans?

Sue the bastards... You'd win, even with a sucky lawyer. Well. I don't know. BUT SUE THEM! That's what the US is best known for.

Gotta love Scrubs Mr. Hogan: Well, who can say no to 49-cent cheeseburgers? Carla: Sure, but tack on the cost of medicine, your room, and pumping your stomach, and that 49-cent cheeseburger is gonna run you in the neighborhood of thirteen hundred dollars. Mr. Hogan: Heh. See, that's how they get you

sue them or never go to eat there

It couldn't have been the fast food place, if you got food poisoning 5 hours after you ate at said fast food place. Food bourne illness takes 24 hours to set in.

Oh man, I didn't believe it at first, but then you said "Really".

Actually, depends on which food bourne illness. I've definitely gotten sick from bad fish within 1-2 hours

To sue is just to help you get by at this point--I mean, food poisoning is food poisoning. You have the right to sue, but I think going through that and possibly failing is also a FML, so prepare yourself :/ Good luck!

that really sucks. i'm tempted to say YDI, but no. too much suck.

Your burger was probably made by those ex-Domino's workers. I hope you have insurance.

wow this fmylife is complete and utter bullshit/a lie. all they do is put you on an IV to replace the electrolytes you've lost and to make you don't dehydrate. for the most part, you don't even get antibiotics since it is a food intoxication(not infection or poisoning as the mass media has you believe), and they send you home unless you ate raw chicken or raw burgers - in which you would have to be an idiot to not visible even see that in the food you were eating. and if it was only 36 hours, it definitely wasn't severe food poisoning and doctors definitely didn't run any tests. lol.
