Today, I went to a fast-food joint and ordered off the $1.00 menu to save money. Five hours later I go to the hospital with food-poisoning. After a whole day of not eating, crapping, puking, having tests, and a bunch of IV fluids, my $1.00 burger ended up costing me $2,000 in bills. Really. FML

#38- Deli Meat alone would cost you 5 and bread is normally around 3 where I live. You can buy same quality food as McDonalds has where I live, actual food though will cost you more.

I bet it was Taco Bell. Hubby had something similar happen to him. I hope you feel better.

That sucks. Move somewhere with good health care. I spent a week in hospital last year and I didn't pay a thing.

Im sure it wendys i had food poisoning from there 2 weeks ago off of their 1.00 double stack....but i was dumb and dint go to the hospital so i just spent a whole bunch of time in the bathroom

So, you went and got a burger today, and five hours later you went to the hospital. And 36 hours later you got a $24,000 bill? Bought burger today...5...36...tomorrow...in the future...BS!

#43, If it is cheaper to go out to McDonald's than to buy food from the store and make it yourself, then why don't your parents take you out to McDonald's for every meal? They don't cause they like saving money and it's cheaper to have a home cooked meal than to go out. Even if we use your prices, you spend 8 bucks and you have at the very least 3 meals (you would still have excess bread after this too). People normally buy at least 3 things off the dollar menu for a meal, costing you $9 for three meals. This is all using conservative estimates as well. BTW, your 15 ******* years old. your parents probably buy all your shit for you. Wait till you gotta pay your way through school, are working shit jobs, and actually create your own budget.
