Lol, that's some seriously messed up shit. Religion ftl.
I love your mum. What she did was very intrusive, but she loves you.
you are an idiot
I'm gonna go out on a limb, here, and go against the crowd a little bit. She said she and her boyfriend were going to have sex for the first time. What if she's 14? Or 15? Or even younger? Is that still crappy of her mom? Personally I don't think kids that young should be having sex. Now her mom could still have handled it much better by sitting her down and having a chat with her. Her mom was being a coward and a bitch. BUT if her daughter was young, I don't think discouraging her from having sex was wrong. Just she went about it the wrong way. Now if the girl was 17 or 18... that's a horse of a different color.
thank you so much for this comment :) I agree with you in discouraging teens from having sex I think a 17 or 18 year old should still be discouraged because sometimes they might not be mature enough and are just having sex 'to feel cool' because others are having sex... Waiting to find the right person to share it with feels amazing :) I am a Christian and I'd love to say wait til marriage but all I can say is wait until you are at least 18 and are possitive you love the person you'd have sex with and wait until you know you can support a baby if that's what comes from it.
Completely agree. It's true that kids under 16/17 shouldn't have sex- for many reasons, of course, and even then it's sometimes advisable to wait, right? But by the time they're that age, they're almost young adults. They can drive, hold a job, even move out of the house. And have sex. And kids under that age should preferably wait. =| However, the way her mother went about it probably did more harm than good. I'm 14, and when I was 13 my mother sat me down and had "The Talk". It was a way of telling me her expectations and ways to do it safely. At the least, it was a way to meet with me on the same page and have a civil discussion. She says I shouldn't until I'm legally of age, as many good parents suggest. Her way was a responsible and thoughtful way to tell me how she felt. Right? However, rendering condoms unusable by sticking a jesus pin through them is not the way to go through things. I know #1's suggestion- and the ones that followed- are all funny, but I would recommend sitting her down and having a serious discussion. Returning an inappropriate approach with a less-than-serious one will only result in more trouble.
In Denmark (and probably Sweden and Norway, too), 15 is the age of consent, but even so it's not unusual to have sex before that. Interesting to see how much that differs around the globe.
what about 16?
But I mean condom or no condom, teens still usually do it and take the risk. So it was wrong of her mother. Even though birth control is a sin to some religions.
In any cases it's a very stupid and ****** up idea... If you break all your daughter's condoms she might end up having sex using a broken one or none at all, getting her pregnant. From that point of view it's actually worse if she's very young because ya know 15 and pregnant and that kind of stuff. This mom is ****** up and should die.
That's in my country #303
#34 & 35 - best yet, tell her you got a positive HIV test, and a positive pregnancy test - and would she mind looking after your baby when you're dead? - and then after she's freaked out a bit, come back a month later & tell her you had an abortion.
#42; How the **** does ruining condoms prevent her daughter from getting pregnant or getting an STD? Do you not know the purpose of condoms? The fact that she did ruin her contraceptives makes it MORE likely that her daughter will now get pregnant or an STD. For all we know the poster had unprotected sex after this, which obviously would not have happened if her mother wasn't so stupid. She should've been glad that her daughter was actually smart and mature enough to want to be safe. Her mother was not looking out for her, she was forcing her religion on her, being immature, intrusive and idiotic.
I agree 100%.
oh gosh that is funny. i wish my parents would do that to me just so i could do what #1 suggested. haha.

You should go to your mom in two weeks and be like "MOM I THINK THE CONDOMS I HAD DIDN'T WORK! NOW IM PREGNANT!" and then we'll see who's laughing.
