From working at Starbucks and visiting other stores in my town, I'm going to assume that the OP was a regular, otherwise the baristas wouldn't have dared to have done something like that to you: we can get fired for something like that. I agree with those who've said Starbucks wouldn't have run out of coffee, because it's very unlikely for that to happen; however, my store doesn't sell much coffee, and waste tons of it, so at times we only brew it when it's asked for, which would've been way more believable than Starbucks actually running out. On another note, it's customers like the OP that drive us INSANE!!! Can't you just give the baristas a break?? We're not robots. Half of us are in highschool or university and the other half have families and don't want to go home in a bad mood because of some stupid customer. Also, next time look behind the baristas, that's where the brewers usually are, you can tell if they're on or not, and if they are, chances are, they're coffee in them. YDI

Yeah, definitely a YDI. I work in customer service and I can't stand when people come in and yell at me personally, someone who only works the register, about things I can't control, like the fact that we are out of something. The number of stupid, b*tchy people that we have to deal with is unbelievable, so it's not necessary to get mad at someone for something that is beyond their control. Chances are, if they really were out of coffee, you yelling and b*tching would not have gotten you a coffee, nor would it have sped things up. It's not the person working the counter's fault when the store runs out of something, it's the manager's or whoever is in charge of stock's fault, and sometimes not even that. The unexpected happens, things get sold out. Not to mention, if you had looked around a little instead of instantly flipping your lid, you probably would have noticed some of the things others pointed out like the fact that other people had coffee, that their machines were running, that the store was even still open and the fact that it is a Starbucks and their main business is coffee. Most companies like that have an inventory system which automatically alerts suppliers when supplies get to a certain level so they are not likely to run out quickly, if at all.

I hate it when any customer gets upset because he or she is "in a big hurry." If you're time is as valuable as you think it is, then you really shouldn't be stopping for coffee in the first place. Why should employees have to bend over backwards for your poor time management?

Dude, you're an asshole. You have no right to talk to employees like that, whether or not it was an April Fools joke. And what kind of diva are you? "I need coffee every day." Who the **** do you think you are? If I had been them, I would have thrown the coffee in your stupid ingrate face. Treat employees with respect, they are not your personal servants and if they were out of coffee, it most likely would not even be their fault. God, I'm sick of people being like this. Grow up. Not everyone is here simply to make you happy.

Its starbucks, do you really think they are not going to have coffee? And by the off chance that they don't, do you really think they would be letting people in? I mean what else do you get at starbucks other than coffee?
