One thing I can't get over on this. He said he wanted to be traditional. Isn't the traditional way just giving it to her yourself? I mean if it were me, I wouldn't trust anyone but myself with that necklace
How is having jewellery served on a tray traditional for anyone else but monarchs? Velvet boxes. The traditional thing you're thinking of is a velvet box, not a tray.
um, not to state the obvious but if the waiter disappeared as well as the necklace, the restaurant has his address and social security number, so........
wow what an asshole ?
Well he obviously works there, so tell a manager and they'll find out who it is.
You just can't trust anyone anymore.
Hopefully you saw their name so you can get some higher levels of power involved to find them.
If this was a "fancy" restaurant like OP says. Then the waiters usually make a pretty good amount of money in tips. Not that it's relevant or anything, still F OP's life.
Sorry to hear that. You are supposed to make those request with the manager, not the wait staff

Damn, hopefully the restaurant had security cameras.
Some people are dicks. He was one of those people.
