There is no guarantee the kids have $5 more dollars to give Op on the round trip home. So why would he give them ten dollars? He would still sit alone and be out money. At least with the money he/she could do something fun like buy a video game or pay someone to be their friend. It sucks to be the kid people pay to stay away but don't give the assholes money.
